Indian Food And Restaurants

Indian Food and Indian restaurants are common in many parts of the world, but in the pocket of the world, appear to be few and far between. I realized that many Americans may not be accustomed to Indian food, what to order at an Indian restaurant or the proper way to eat Indian food. Since I grew up eating Indian food, it is natural for me to pluck the delicious naan and curry take. That's why I wanted to put together a short article outlining some common dishes India and what they want to order at an Indian restaurant. I hope this will encourage you to try Indian food.

More than likely, you will start free poppadoms. These cookies are like very thin, but much bigger. Usually there are 3 sauces and chutneys that go along with poppadoms, a green sauce made with cilantro lime that is slightly spicy, a dark brown sauce that is very sweet (save for later, will tell you why in a moment) , and a mango chutney is very good, but very hot.

Appetizers:

More than likely you'll see a menu Samosas an appetizer in Indian restaurants. It is a safe option because they are full of flavor but not spicy. They are triangular pastries filled with potatoes, peas and other vegetables. The sweet brown chutney I told you going to stand for less.

Main dishes:

Tandoori: Tandoori is always a safe option. This is not a hot and spicy dish at all. No heavy sauce to it either. It is simply cooked in a clay oven called Tandoori, hence the name. Not frightened by the color. You will leave with a red especially for chicken. It seems a little odd, but tastes great.

Biryani (pronounced beer-and-ani) Think of Biryani as the Indian version of Chinese fried rice. It is rice with vegetables (usually as raisins) with your choice of meat. Lamb Biryani is very good. It's really good with any meat. Probably would not recommend getting Shrimp Biryani. Again, this is another safe option, it will not be a spicy dish.

Curry: This is actually a thick sauce full of cumin, garlic, tamarind and lots of other tasty spices made to the warmth of your order. Curry is by far the most popular dish in India. I like it with beef, lamb, chicken or shrimp.

Masala: This is a creamy tomato sauce is very tasty. Usually, not too spicy, but you should ask to be sure. One of my favorite Indian restaurant is Chicken Tikka Masala. As a matter of fact, I read somewhere that Chicken Tikka Masala is the number one most ordered dish in England. Having a large Indian population, Indian restaurants seem to pop up everywhere in England. In fact, India's food is all you ever want to eat when I go to England.

Vindaloo: (pronounced Vind-aloo) HOT HOT HOT! This is one of the best dishes you can order. Once again, is made with various spices like curry, but it's really hot. It's so hot, in fact, I am not able to eat and enjoy it. To my palette, pepper dominates any other flavor, and I can not enjoy the dish. WARNING: This dish is not for an Indian food virgin.

Typical of these dishes come with basmati rice (Indian white). But you're missing if not for some delicious nann (pancake bread) to eat with curry. Part of the experience of eating Indian food using their hands to absorb the sauce with the naan.

Although there are different types of naan I recommend starting with something simple like nann bearings, or garlic. You usually get 2 pieces which is quite nice for 1 person. You may want to consider 2 orders for 2 people and if there are traces of them are great for breakfast in the morning.

Indian restaurants often do not have any vegetable dish with the posts. This is probably because many Indians are vegetarians, vegetable dishes are a main dish for themselves. Indian curry sauces tend to have very rich and, along with rice and naan will fill quickly. But if you feel the need to recommend something with a vegetable aloo (potatoes) or Baigon (eggplant).

For drinks, beers in the country goes well with Indian food. Usually enjoy a meal with the Taj Mahal. If beer is not your thing, then I recommend trying a Mango Lassi. It is a sweet, fruity drink that is like having a milkshake with your meal.

If you are still able to eat dessert after dinner filling Kulfi is a good option. This is India Ice Cream, which usually comes in several flavors, two common mango and pistachio being.

Well, there you have it! This should give you enough information to feel confident enough to give Indian food a try.
